Hi! I’m Melody, a Registered Nutritional Therapist. 

 

I help busy people who are feeling stressed, tired, depressed, anxious and overweight to regain control of their eating habits by providing them with an easy and manageable eating and lifestyle plan so that they can increase their energy levels, have improved clarity and focus, lose weight and feel and look their best! 

 

When you are stressed, you may find it difficult to lose weight; you may have digestive issues such as bloating, diarrhoea or constipation;  you may find it hard to sleep, waking early in the morning or feeling unrefreshed upon walking which may be impacting on your energy levels; you may also suffer from mood swings, anxiety, irritability or depression. 

 

I am passionate about taking the stress out of healthy eating, as I understand the need for quick and easy meals that taste delicious and nourish your mind and body!  Restoring gut health is also fundamental to long-term health and mental wellbeing, as the gut communicates with every other function in your body. 

 

You may have tried other avenues and they didn’t work to resolve your health issues. Our bodies are complex systems, with messengers such as hormones and neurotransmitters all working together to keep your body on an even keel. Sometimes these systems can get knocked out of balance, which is when you may start to feel symptoms. I strongly believe in finding and resolving the root cause of these imbalances, so that you can live the healthy and energetic life that you desire and deserve! 

 

I am committed to working alongside your doctor and other health professionals, including chiropractors, osteopaths, acupuncturists and physiotherapists to ensure that your health is supported in a safe and holistic way. I also offer functional testing (such as genetic testing, stool testing and hormone testing) to help discover what is causing your signs and symptoms, and to focus the support on the specific issue which is going on. 

 

Wellbeing and lifestyle medicine (such as meditation and exercise) are also a key part of my work, as stress has a detrimental effect on your health and fundamentally believe that prevention is better than cure when it comes to dis-ease in the body

 

As a keen runner, I also studied Integrative Sports Nutrition which combines conventional sports nutrition with functional medicine. This approach is tailored to each individual on a case by case basis, to fully understand the individual athlete’s current health status and how nutritional therapy can be used to optimise their health, performance and recovery. 

 

My hobbies include trail running along the beautiful cliff paths in Jersey, reading health books to keep up to date with the current health news and meditating in nature.
