I always advise my clients who eat fish to go for SMASH fish:-
💙 these fish are rich in omega 3 oils which are important for:-
👉🏼 anti-inflammation (important for sports recovery)
👉🏼 cell membranes which are required for cell-signalling, and also for getting nutrients into the cells and waste out of the cells
🧠 brain health and function
💙 oily fish are good sources of vitamin D which is important for:-
🦴 strong bones and calcium regulation
🤧 healthy immune function
☀️ it is also known as the sunshine vitamin meaning it may help reduce depression (especially in these winter months!)
💙 SMASH fish also have low levels of mercury compared to their bigger counterparts like tuna. Mercury is a hormone disruptor meaning it can interfere with how your hormones are meant to function. It can also have neurological implications.
💙 choose locally caught, sustainable fish wherever possible!
